Methiopropamine is a thiophene ring-based analogue of methamphetamine that was first reported in 1942. It was first described as a recreational drug in 2010. Subjective effects are similar to the effects of classical stimulants. They include but are not limited to stimulation, focus enhancement, and appetite suppression.
Chemistry
Methiopropamine is a synthetic substance that has a thiophene ring that’s bound to an amino acid. It has a methyl substitution at RN, which is similar to the MDMA and methamphetamine derivatives.
Although methiopropamine is similar to methamphetamine, it’s not an amphetamine and has a thiophene ring instead.
Pharmacology
Methiopropamine is a selective dopamine reuptake inhibitor that allows the accumulation of dopamine and norepinephrine in the brain. It produces euphoric effects when used in combination with other drugs.
