Pharmacology
According to some users, MeOPP can induce less anxiety than piperazines. It is also said to be relaxing, which is why it is often combined with other piperazines. Although it doesn’t produce notable stimulant effects, it can still be used as a combination with other piperazines.
In vitro studies have shown that MeOPP works by interfering with the reuptake of monoamine neurotransmitters. This mechanism is similar to that of drugs of abuse, such as amphetamines. Although it is relatively insignificant in terms of its abuse potential, it is believed that MeOPP could be useful for treating anxiety.
Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazines, which are commonly used as piperazine derivatives, have also been known to act similarly to nonselective serotonin receptor antagonists.
