alpha-Pyrrolidinohexiophenone also called α-Pyrrolidinohexanophenone, Alpha-PHP, α-PHP, PV-7 is a stimulant compound under the cathinone class which was developed in the 1960s. The compound is a longer chain homolog of α-PVP with an extra carbon on the alkyl side chain. It is also considered to highly potent than alpha-PVP which is in accordance with laboratory test results and chemical reactivity.
It is a replacement for α-PVP, which was banned in China in 2014. Due to its widespread use, α-PHP has become a worldwide commodity. It has various effects such as euphoria, disinhibition, and ego inflation. It can be produced in the form of a fine powder or a crystallized shard.
Chemistry
α-PHP is a compound that has a dual structure composed of a phenyl ring and a nitrogen ring. It is mainly known for its long chain structure.
Pharmacology
The mechanism of action of α-PHP is not known. It is believed that this drug acts similarly to other NDRIs like α-PVP and pentedrone.
It can increase the levels of norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain by partially blocking a protein that prevents the accumulation of these neurotransmitters in the brain. This method works by binding to and blocking the proteins that remove these chemicals from the synaptic cleft.
Not much is known about the pharmacological and toxicological properties of alpha-PHP. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
