MDA-19, MDA19
A drug known as BZO-HEXOXIZID, which is used to treat neuropathic pain, is a selective agonist of the CB2 receptor. In animal studies, it was shown to be effective in treating neuropathic pain, though it did not affect the locomotor activity of the rats.
In rats, the drug was shown to work differently than the human CB1 receptor. This drug, which was first synthesized in the 2000s, was able to bind to the receptor almost seven times higher than the human CB1.
The drug, which is known as MDA-19, binds to the human CB2 receptors at a concentration of 43.3 to 10.3 nM. It also functions as an agonist of the human CB1 receptors at a concentration of 162.4 to 7.6 nM. However, it does not work as effectively against the rat’s other CB1 receptors.
Although it can be used as an effective treatment for various conditions, such as neuropathic pain, it also functions as an inverse agonist for the rat’s CB2 receptors.
In addition to this drug, other forms of BZO-HEXOXIZID, such as the 5-Fluoro Pentyl and the shorter Pentyl tailchain analog, were also seized in the US as early as September 2021. These drugs were identified as part of synthetic smoke blends.
The US Border Protection Officers were able to identify BZO-4en-POXIZID as early as February 2022. Despite its lower binding affinity, other low-level CB1 binding synthetic cannabinoids, such as the UR-144 and the XLR-11, have also been known to be used in smoke blends. These drugs, which have an EC50 value of 98 nM and 83 nM, respectively, were previously identified in 2012.
Although it is legal in the US, it can be considered illegal if it is used for human consumption. In China, a ban on certain types of synthetic cannabinoids was implemented in May 2021. This ban does not include the class of compounds known as MDA-19.
The toxicological and physiological properties of this compound has not been analyzed. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
