Shipping & Storage Information
Methoxphenidine is a dissociative compound under the diarylethylamine family. It was widely used as a treatment for neurotoxic injury. As an homeomorph of MK-801 and arylcyclohexylamines, it can act as an NMDA receptor channel blocker which can lead to neuroprotective and dissociative effects. As an analog of diphenidine, it features a methoxy group at the two positions of a phenyl group.
Methoxphenidine is a type of diarylethylamine that has been studied as a neurotoxic treatment. It was first marketed as a replacement for the popular drug methoxetamine in the US in 2013. Despite the lack of evidence it produces similar effects, it was still sold as a replacement for MXE. Methoxphenidine is a designer drug that has been developed to mimic the structural and functional features of other substances.
Chemistry
Methoxphenidine is a dissociative class of compounds that has the same chemical structure as phenethylamine. Its terminal amino group is incorporated into a phenyl ring. Its chemical structure consists of a phenyl ring and a substituted phenethylamine.
Pharmacology
MXP is an NMDA receptor antagonist that works by closing the NMDA receptors. When the receptor is blocked, the neurons are disconnected from the brain and spinal column. This impairs the ability to feel and move.
