4-propoxy-3,5-DMPEA, Proscaline, 4-propoxy-3,5-Dimethoxyphenethylamine
Proscaline is a psychedelic drug with properties similar to other hallucinogenic drugs. According to Alexander Shulgin, it can last for up to twelve hours. Proscaline is a class of compounds commonly used as phenethylamines with its full name as 4-propoxy-3,5-diethoxyphenethylamine analogue.
4-propyloxy-3,5-diethylphenoxyamine is a psychedelic substance that belongs to the mescaline subclass. It is structurally related to isoproscaline and allylescaline. David Nichols first published the synthesis of proscaline in 1977. A year later, Alexander Shulgin tested the chemical at doses of up to 60 milligrams and concluded that its potency was five times greater than that of mescaline.
The subjective effects are similar to those of mescaline, including time distortion, open-eye visuals, and subjective perception. However, it is believed that these effects are less visual than mescaline and could be used as an adjunct to psychedelic therapy.
Chemistry
Proscaline is a substituted phenethylamine that features a phenyl ring bound to an amino acid. It has two methoxy functional groups, CH3O and R5, and is an alkylated 4-propyloxy analog. It has an additional propyloxy group at the carbon R4 of the phenyl ring.
Pharmacology
Although its effects are believed to originate from its interaction with the 5-HT2A receptor, their role in the psychedelic experience is still unknown.
Not much is known about the pharmacological and toxicological properties of 6-APB. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
