Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine, 3-Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine, TFMPP, 1-(m-Trifluoromethylphenyl)piperazine, 1-(meta-Trifluoromethylphenyl)piperazine
Trifluoromethylphenylpiperazine, also known as TFMPP, is a recreational drug that is often combined with other drugs such as BZP. It is sometimes used as an alternative to the illegal substance ecstasy.
Although TFMPP is commonly used as a combination drug, it can also cause aversive effects in animals. This could explain why the DEA decided not to classify it as a controlled substance. Co-administered with BZP, it can also help release dopamine and norepinephrine.
The combination of BZP and TFMPP can also cause aversive effects in animals due to the increased levels of serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine. This mixture of drugs can also mimic the effects of MDMA.
Pharmacology
The 5-HT1A, 5-HT1B, and 5-HT1D receptors are known to have a strong affinity for the TFMPP. It can act as a partial agonist at all sites, except for the 5-HT2A receptor, where it is a weak antagonist.
Unlike the chlorophenylpiperazine compound, the TFMPP has little effect on the 5-HT3 receptor. It also binds to the SERT and activates the serotonin receptor. It does not affect the effects of other drugs, such as norepinephrine and dopamine.
The toxicological and physiological properties of this compound has not been analyzed. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
