2-fluoroethamphetamine (2-FEA) is a new class of amphetamine that produces a variety of effects, such as stimulation and euphoria.
Users of 2-FEA are not exactly sure what effects it has. According to anecdotal reports, the drug has little activity and may even cause a serotonin imbalance.
Online retailers sell 2-FEA. It is strongly advised to avoid using it and use harm reduction methods if you are using it.
Chemistry
A synthetic version of amphetamines known as 2-fluoroethamphetamine (2-FEA) is produced by a phenethylamine core that features a ring bound to an amino acid group through an ethyl chain. As an alpha-methylated compound, amphetamines are known to have a methyl substitution at R. 2-FEA is also considered as the N-ethylated homolog of 2-FA.
Pharmacology
Although 2-FEA is not yet considered a standard drug for treating schizophrenia, it is believed that it can potentially be used as a triple reuptake inhibitor. It is also believed that it can release neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine.
It is believed that 2-FEA can create its effects by binding to and blocking the neurotransmitters that are commonly used in the treatment of schizophrenia. These substances are usually cleared from the synaptic cleft following the completion of a neural impulse.
