The substance known as 25C-NBOMe is a novel phenethylamine derivative that belongs to the 2C-x family. It is a part of a group of potent compounds that were previously only known to be produced by the 2C-x family. 25C-NBOMe is a derivative of the drug 2C-C. It was first presented on online vendor sites in 2010. Although it was first reported in 2011, it wasn’t widely known in the literature until then.
It is a potent inhibitor of the 5HT2A receptor. It has been studied in its radiolabeled form as a potential drug for mapping the distribution of this receptor in the brain. It has been known that 25C-NBOMe can cause multiple deaths due to its ease of use. However, the long-term effects of this drug have not been studied.
It was first discovered in 2003 by Free University of Berlin researcher and former graduate student, Ralf Heim. It was then studied by a team led by David Nichols, a chemical engineer at Purdue University.
Through its radiolabeled form, the researchers were able to identify 25C-NBOMe as a potential drug for the mapping of the serotonin-2A receptors in the brain. The first reports about its human use appeared in 2010.
The effects of 25C-NBOMe are similar to those of LSD and other psychedelics. However, it has a stronger visual effect and is more stimulating than other drugs. It also has less emotional and cognitive effects. In addition, it is believed that 25C-NBOMe has a lower impact on the body’s vascular system. Some of the side effects that 25C-NBOMe can cause include seizures, anxiety, and nausea.
The active substances in the NBOMe series are not intended to be taken orally. Instead, they should be administered through a combination of vapor and inhaled form. These two methods allow users to experience the effects of 25C-NBOMe in a shorter time.
Unfortunately, this method is not recommended due to the high risk of overdose and the difficulty in handling and measuring the active substances. Also, 25C-NBOMe can be obtained as a counterfeit version of LSD. This is because its effects can be easily laid down on blotter paper.
Although it is relatively unknown about the properties of 25C-NBOMe, its toxicity and metabolism have been known to cause hospitalizations and deaths. This suggests that it has a worse toxicity than other classical psychedelics such as LSD. Because of its unpredictable effects and unpredictable dose, it is also commonly believed that 25C-NBOMe is very difficult to safely use.
Chemistry
Phenethylamine 2C-C is a derivative of the phenethylamine known as 25C-NBOMe. It is a serotonin-producing N-benzyl derivative of this drug. The chemical is attached to two carbons R2 and R5 and a chlorine atom. 2C-C is structurally different from 2C-NBOMe due to a substitution of the amine with a 2-methoxybenzyl group. 25C-NBOMe is a part of the NBOMe family and shares the same structure. The methoxyether CH3O-bound to a benzene ring is produced by the addition of 25C-NBOMe.
Pharmacology
25C-NBOMe is a partial agonist of the 5-HT2A receptor. It can also cause a psychoactive effect. The role of these interactions in the development of LSD remains unclear.
The addition of NBOMe to the structure of 2C-NBOMe significantly increases the potency of the drug. This allows for the most extreme dosage to fit into liquid form, which is often mistakenly labeled as LSD. However, this is only a third of the drug’s potency.
The toxicological and physiological properties of this compound has not been analyzed. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
