Shipping & Storage Information
NEP which is also referred to as alpha-ethylaminopentiophenone, N-ethylnorpentedrone, N-ethyl Pentedrone is a compound of the substituted cathinones and an analog to ethcathinone. Substituted cathinones are basically psychoactive compounds usually used as recreational drugs. They differ by having propyl rather than methyl at the α position.
It is believed that the effects of NEP are caused by its activity as a reuptake inhibitor. This substance is also known to cause entactogenic effects. NEP is a close relative of pentedrone. Its addition of an ethyl group makes it more potent than pentedrone. It is also related to Hexen.
NEP was first introduced in 2016 as a new generation of designer drugs that are designed to mimic the effects of certain synthetic stimulants.
Chemistry
N-Ethyl-(nor)-pentedrone is a type of cathinone chemical that has an alkyl group and an oxygen group attached to the alpha carbon. It is a beta-ketone analogue that can be used to treat amphetamines. The flexible nature of the cathinone backbone allows it to be modified in various ways to create hundreds of compounds.
Pharmacology
Due to the lack of research on NEP, all discussion about its pharmacology is based on its subjective effects. It is believed that NEP is a norepinephrine releasing agent and a reuptake inhibitor. This compound allows the accumulation of norepinephrine and dopamine within the brain, which can stimulate and/or depress the nervous system.
The toxicological and physiological properties of this compound has not been analyzed. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
