Pentylone, β-Keto-Methylbenzodioxolylpentanamine, βk-Methyl-K, βk-MBDP, methylenedioxypentedrone

During the 1960s, a class of stimulant known as pentylone was developed. It is a substitution for phenethylamine. It can be found in various powders, such as NRG-1. Other variants of this include MDPBP, 4-MePPP, and flephedrone.

It can also be found in bath salts, which are commonly referred to as cathinone. Pentylone has been known to be present in these products.

It was found in combination with 4-MePPP, which was marketed as NRG-3. Reports indicated that it can cause agitation and paranoia, and it can also affect one’s sleep. Pentylone is a type of serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor.
