2,4-DMMC, 2,4-Dimethyl
2,4-DMMC is also known as “Dimethylmethcathinone hydrochloride”. This designer drug was first identified in Europe in 2010, and is prohibited in several countries. The compound is a highly attractive substance as it has the characteristics of stimulants and psychoactive phenethylamines. is the structural analog of mephedrone, and has similar UV and IR properties. Its molecular weight and affinity for 5-HT2A and 2-C receptors make it an excellent candidate for biomedical research. It is available for recreational use in several countries.
2,4-DMMC is a disubstituted analog of methcathinone. It is widely used in forensic and research purposes and is classified as a controlled substance because of its low biological activity. However, it has not yet been characterized in terms of its pharmacological and physiological properties. Because of this, it is only available to individuals 21 years old or older. Read on to learn more about this drug.
This designer drug is a synthetic cathinone and has been found in several plant foods and bath salts. It has been banned for recreational use in a number of countries. Because of its similarity to mephedrone, it has been deemed a popular recreational drug. Its high affinity for 5-HT 2 receptors and ability to inhibit monoamine transporters make it a potent psychoactive substance. It is also detected in the urine and blood.
Researchers conducted a series of tests to determine whether 2,4-DMMC was used in a narcotic. In order to distinguish DMMC from mephedrone, they employed NMR spectroscopy and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. Further, they studied the effects of the drug on brain activity and toxicity using ultraviolet spectroscopy and a novel chemical method. The findings indicate that DMMC has potential to become a widely available and effective synthetic psychoactive.
The toxicological and physiological properties of this compound has not been analyzed. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
