MMA, 3-Methoxy-4-methylamphetamine
3-Methoxy-4-methylamphetamine, also known as MMA, is a psychedelic drug that was first synthesized in 1970. It was first used as a street drug in Italy during the 1990s. In 1991, it was reassayed as a non-psychoactive analogue of MDMA by David Nichols. It became widely known as a designer drug during the 2000s.
In animal studies, MMA is completely different from MDMA and MBDB, and it does not contain amphetamine substitute. It also has a distinct effect on the serotonin reuptake. It has also been shown that it can inhibit the production of serotonin in rodents. These data suggest that MMA has a distinct 5-HT2A receptor agonist and SSRA profile.
The toxicological and physiological properties of this compound has not been analyzed. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
