NM-2AI also known as N-methyl-2-Aminoindane is a psychoactive alkaloids and research chemical with a rigid analogue of methamphetamine. NM-2-AI is a novel stimulant substance under the aminoindane class of chemicals. Structurally, it is well similar to MDAI and 2-AI. It is an AI derivative that acts as a non-neurotoxic and a selective serotonin releasing agent. It reduces nociception and inhibits exploratory activity in mice. This substance has a lower potency than 2-AI, but it has a longer duration and more similar effects.
Chemistry
N-methyl-2-AI is a type of 2-Aminoindane that is similar to amphetamine. It has the same terminal carbon as amphetamine and is produced by the indane group.
Pharmacology
Due to the lack of research on this substance, the effects it has on the brain are still unclear. It has been theorized that its structure can increase the levels of norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain. This could explain the unusual effects of its use.
