2C-T-7, 2,5-Dimethoxy-4-propylthiophenethylamine, 2C T 7
The 2C family’s phenethylamine 2C-T-7 is commonly taken orally. According to Alexander Shulgin in his book, PiHKAL: A Chemical Love Story, the dosage range for this drug is from 10 to 30 mg. It can cause various effects, such as entactogenic and psychedelic. Before Operation Web Tryp, which involved the deaths of three individuals, 2C-T-7 was available in Japanese and Dutch smartshops and online.
It’s commonly referred to as Blue Mystic or 7th Heaven. There has been little research on this chemical aside from Shulgin’s book. Some studies have been conducted on its metabolites, but these were mainly focused on detecting them.
What is Blue Mystic?
Blue Mystic is a substance that can be used as a replacement for MDMA, and it has been identified in the EU. Due to the growing number of people experimenting with it, discussion about it has also started to grow on the internet.
Alexander Shulgin first synthesized 2C-T-7 in his book PiHKAL. It is a part of the 2C-x family of phenethylamines, which were modified using the mescaline molecule.
Unlike other 2C-x compounds, 2C-T-7 can be unpredictable and can cause severe physical effects. It can also be dangerous due to its effects, which can manifest in instances of delirium. Reports indicate that its effects are too severe for people with pre-existing conditions.
This compound is part of the magical half-dozen, which refers to the various phenethylamines that Shulgin created and tested on himself. These include mescaline, meescaline, 2C-B, 2C-E, 2C-T-2, and 2C-T-7. These compounds can be found in the first book of PiHKAL.
Chemistry
2C-T-7 is a derivative of phenethylamine that is used as a replacement for phenethylamine. It features a phenyl ring that is bound to an NH2 group.
2C-T-7 is part of the 2C family of phenethylamines. It features a benzene ring that is bound to a group of methoxyfunctional compounds. It is also substituted with a thioether group.
2C-T-7 is an analog of 2C-T-2. The difference between both products is the length of the alkane chain, usually in their thioether group.
Pharmacology
The effects of 2C-T-7 on the human brain have been studied. It has been shown that its partial agonist effect can be achieved through interactions with the 5-HT2A receptor. However, the exact mechanisms by which these interactions can lead to the psychedelic experience remain unclear.
Due to the potential side effects of 2C-T-7, it has been known that it can cause Serotonin Syndrome. It is also known that the drug can be used as a monoamine oxidase A inhibitor. This compound is widely believed to have MAOI effects. Some of the 2C-T-x series’ amphetamines are also highly selective when it comes to the production of MAOI.
The toxicological and physiological properties of this compound has not been analyzed. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
