In 2004, molecular biologist and Free University Berlin researcher, Dr. Ralf Heim, discovered a derivative of phenethylamine 2C-B, which is a powerful agonist of the 5HT2A receptor. It is part of the 25x-NBOMe series, which is a group of powerful compounds that were produced using the 2C-x family. According to users, 25B-NBOMe can be used as a hallucinogen at a dosage of 250 to 500 micrograms. This makes it a similar substance to other phenethylamine-based drugs such as Bromo-DragonFLY.
In 2004, German scientist and researcher, Ralf Heim, discovered 25B-NBOMe, which is a potent partial agonist of the 5-HT2A receptor. It was initially tested in clinical trials at a very low safety level. It was later revealed that the drug would not be harmful to humans and that recreational users would have much higher doses than those that were approved for human use. Before it was marketed as a designer drug in 2010, it had no known history of human use.
According to some users, 25B-NBOMe can stimulate the senses with its various effects, such as time distortion, euphoria, and closed-eye visuals. It is also said to be active in the hallucinogen class, making it a similar substance to other phenethylamine-based drugs such as Bromo-DragonFLY. It is important to note that these compounds are not orally active, so they should only be taken in a pinch.
The effects of 25B-NBOMe can last for up to 16 hours. However, it can be quickly cleared from the blood by using a radiolabeled form. In 2019, a study conducted by Dr. Cerodio and colleagues revealed that the drug’s effects can be influenced by various factors such as neuroadaptation and the dysregulation of the dopaminergic system.
There is currently not enough information about the drug’s properties and metabolism in humans to determine its safety. It has been known that members of the 25B-NBOMe series have experienced various side effects, such as hospitalizations and deaths. Because of these unpredictable effects, it is highly advised to avoid using this substance.
Chemistry
Phenethylamine 2C-B is a derivative of the phenethylamine known as 25B-NBOMe. It is a serotoninergic N-benzyl derivative that is produced by attaching a group of methoxy groups to carbons R2, R5, and R4. 2C-B is structurally different from 2C-B due to the substitution of NH2 with a 2-methoxybenzyl group. 25B-NBOMe is a part of the NBOMe family and shares the same 2-methoxybenzyl substitution.
Pharmacology
The drug 25B-NBOMe is a potent partial agonist that can be used to treat schizophrenia and other mental disorders. However, the exact mechanisms by which this drug interacts with the 5-HT2A receptor and its effects on the psychedelic experience remain unclear.
The toxicological and physiological properties of this compound has not been analyzed. Usage of this Chemical should be for research and forensic purposes only.
